Hammerting is a simulation of a vertical dwarven mining colony with RPG features.

Manage a colorful Dwarven clan, set up an epic mining enterprise, make legendary weapons, and dive deep for greater fame, wealth... and danger.

With the surface fight blazing, the Dwarves resolve to burrow deep and, as expert artisans, make and supply what is required to support their comrades. You begin with a small group of Dwarves who need to set up their operations rapidly. However, as you progress, your tiny clan will grow and become known throughout the Overworld for their superior craftsmanship and expertise.

Making Things for Victory

On the surface, allies will have a plethora of requests. Dwarves may be requested to make a slew of silver swords in order to repel an approaching army.

With the Overworld in desperate need, every successful delivery brings you one step closer to victory. Conveyor belts and elevators can be built to free your Dwarves from manual labor as their skills improve and your base grows.

Is Glöf's illustrious ancestry at odds with Vargskreva's poor upbringing? Is your explorer terrified of darkness? Has your master craftsperson achieved Ballmer Peak? Aim for victory by utilizing both your Dwarves' strengths and vulnerabilities. Each Dwarf's stats, Dwarven heritage, traits, talents, equipment, move-set, and much more are richly and uniquely defined as events in their life form them.

Anyone can make an Iron Sword, but only Dwarves can mine the depths for gems and bones and utilize them to make the... Iron Sword +2.

A talented Dwarf has a higher chance of reaching a critical outcome with each hit of the hammer on an anvil, providing you better and upgraded gear.

The Living Cave

"Fortune favors the brave," as the saying goes, and only in the darkest depths will you find the most powerful materials, the warmest magma, the rarest treasures, but also the most dangerous conditions.

The shortest and safest route down - and back up - is a primary priority, but you'll have lots of unique Dwarven mechanisms to assist you.

Hammerting includes liquid and physical mechanisms for pouring hot lava into your hearths, producing hoppy beer, flinging flaming torches down shafts to illuminate the unknown, and more!
