Destiny 2 is the sequel to Destiny. The sequel is also a multiplayer first-person shooter that was developed by Bungie and then published by Activision. The game was first released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 6th, 2017, and the following month it was also released for Microsoft Windows.

Destiny 2 is set in a mythic science fiction world with beautiful sci-fi environments and multiplayer "shared-world" that contains various RPG elements like live events. Players are so-called Guardians, the protectors of the last safe city on Earth. They can use a special power called the Light which they use to protect the Last City from various alien races. But, once a warlord named Dominus Ghaul, the leader of the Cabal race, strips the Guardians of their Light, he manages to invade and conquer theLast City.

Players then embark on an epic journey to rediscover their Light and look for a way to take on Ghaul and take back their city.

As was the case in the first game, the activities in Destiny 2 are either PvE-based or PvP-based. There are various normal story missions in the game, but you also have three-player "Strikes" and six-player raids for more intense PvE experiences. Destiny 2 also has various public events and activities that were not present in Destiny.

As far as the PvP goes, there are various objective-based modes that you can play, as well as your typical deathmatch game modes. Unlike the previous game, the game's PvP modes all feature 4v4 matches.

For those Guardians out there tuned into Destiny 2, you’ll be aware of the This Week at Bungie news posts that offer a constant update on what’s up and coming in the popular sci-fi MMOFPS. However they don’t always bring good news, as within the May 19 issue of TWAB it was announced that Xur, the NPC that offers exotics and other valuable weaponry, is undergoing some changes that while small, have essentially killed a passionate sub-community of Destiny players. But first, an explainer on how th...

Tucked away in the patch notes of the latest This Week at Bungie, a longstanding Destiny 2 community request has at least partially been fulfilled: Every Guardian is getting 100 extra storage slots in their vault, bringing the total to 600... Read more.

This week at Bungie, Guardian Games is coming to a close, and we’re but days away from a new Season. That’s right Guardian Games is nearing its end. Warlocks are dominating as of this writing. Will they hold on for their first Guardian Games victory? Only time will tell. Actually, not true—our social media channels will also tell. And you might be able to do the math by visiting the podium in the Tower, as they might have such a commanding lead that Titans and Hunters couldn’t possibly catch up ...

Bungie was one of the first game studios to speak out in support of "essential healthcare rights" for women following the leak of a drafting ruling indicating that the US Supreme Court intends to overturn Roe v. Wade this summer. Sony, on the other hand, utterly botched an attempt to avoid any controversy, and while it eventually tried to clean up the mess it had made, it did so in the strangest possible fashion by making a relatively minuscule donation to Women's Reproductive Rights Assist...
