Enter the world of Divinity: Original Sin 2. The Divine is no more, and the Void is making its way towards the living. There are powers in you that are waiting for awakening, and as the battle for Divinity begins, you will need to either cast everything aside and reach for the ultimate power, or step aside and be devoured. You never know who can be trusted, so pick your allies carefully.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a complex RPG with an in-depth world filled with all sorts of characters, some friendly, others not so much. Players get to choose who they start as. Want to be an Undead, or a Lizard, or maybe even a flesh-eating Elf? The choice is yours, and keep in mind, the world and the people in it will act differently depending on who, or what, you are.

Create a group of companions that you choose, and then develop your relationships with them. Work together in tactical turn-based combat where the environment can be used to your advantage.

Explore a huge world where you get to interact with your surroundings like never before. You can visit whichever place you want, talk to any character that you see on the map, and even converse with ghosts to see if they have taken any secrets to their grave.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 has online co-op up to four players. There is even a Game Master Mode where you can create your own fantastic stories and then have your friends play through them.

Like their upcoming mind flayer baddies, Baldur's Gate 3 developers Larian Studios have snatched some minds for a new studio. Larian have announced that they've snagged the development team from Spanish studio BlitWorks who they've previously worked with on porting their other big RPG Divinity: Original Sin 2 to the Nintendo Switch. Less sinister than the mind flayers though, I imagine. The two apparently got on so well while working on the Switch version of D:OS2 that Larian have lifted the dev...

As an enjoyer of co-op campaigns, an enjoyer of RPGs, and specifically an enjoyer of co-op RPG romp Divinity: Original Sin 2, here's a nice bit of news. It may seem like Larian Studios' last big game had gotten a release on just about every platform you could think of, but no. They've now launched it on iPads too. If you too have co-op pals who don't own PCs, here's yet another way to try and rope them into one of the best co-op games around thanks to cross-platform multiplayer between PC, Mac, ...

There was a time when the idea of playing a sweeping fantasy RPG with a grand branching story, freedom, and choices innumerable was, well, the stuff of fantasy. From the great CRPGs of the '90s through the entire Elder Scrolls series, Dragon Age, and The Witcher, solitude felt like an endemic part of the genre experience; close the blinds, light a girthy asymmetrically melted candle to set the right ambience, and lose yourself in your own stories in Skyrim. Some of these games - like Baldur's Ga...

Everything going terribly wrong is the theme of most of my Divinity: Original Sin 2 experiences. Fire everywhere, right? Speedrunners know this big RPG’s ins and outs much better than I do, but it turns out even they aren’t impervious to disaster—or fire. This year’s D:OS2 speedrun during the Awesome Games Done Quick marathon went totally off the rails but was an even more fun watch because of it. (more…)
