Buying Far Cry 4 Steam Edition gives you access to the base game on the Steam platform.

Far Cry 4 takes us to a place hidden in the steep Himalayas called Kyrat. Kyrat is a country of tradition and as of recently, a country filled with brutal violence.

Players take control of Ajay Ghale, who is traveling to Kyrat in order to fulfill the dying wish of his mother. But, Ajay quickly finds himself in the middle of a chaotic civil war. The goal of this civil war is to overthrow Pagan Min, a ruthless dictator that is ruling over Kyrat with an iron fist. Far Cry 4 has an astounding open world full of wonder and danger. Each of your decisions will lead you down a certain path, so be careful and think before you act.

Far Cry 4 features the most diverse world in the franchise that we’ve seen yet. Charming green forests, the snowcapped Himalayas, each environment is captivating and also quite deadly. Kyrat has all kinds of animals for you to see, hunt, and run away from. From cunning leopards to mighty rhinos, to the majestic black eagles, and more. The wildlife here is something to admire and fear at the same time. The game has a gyrocopter which allows you to scout the territory from above. Players also have access to the wingsuit which lets you glide through the air without any issues. You can even ride elephants in this game and stomp your enemies with them.

Far Cry 4 has online co-op, meaning a friend can hop into your game at any time and you can go and enjoy this action-packed shooter together.

Once upon a time, Ubisoft's library was simple: it made platformers starring terrifying mascots with no limbs , and roughly 17,000 Tom Clancy tie-ins. Regardless of whether you’re controlling a historical hitman or a coma-bound cop, though, Ubisoft’s sandboxes love to borrow mechanics from other Ubi games. Join us as we look back at t...

Ranking the games in the Far Cry series isn't an especially easy task given that for the most part it's been a widely varied collection of shooters: Far Cry 1, 2, and 3 were all distinctly different from one another, and while Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5, and Blood Dragon were quite similar to Far Cry 3, Primal threw us a curve and plopped us in the Stone Age. Another issue with ranking them: the Far Cry games are all pretty good! There are no stinkers in the series, meaning there's no o...

Poor Ubisoft. They crafted this enormous open-world icon-riddled niche of their own, trod it into the ground while flogging it to death, and then other people came along, borrowed their ideas, and built superior games with them. In the last year, despite decent showings from Far Cry Primal, The Division, Watch Dogs 2, and Wildlands, players and critics were beginning to weary of yet another open map of odd jobs. None was particularly at fault, but we were experiencing perhaps the sense of dimini...
