Save your people from the brink of extinction. The Dark Ages have never looked so grim as, by the end of the 14th century, the plague had killed 95 percent of the world's population. Is there any hope left?

HELP YOUR PEOPLE REBUILD

Survivors rise from the ashes of society. But it is now up to you to assist them. Nature is reclaiming its once lost territory, and your people need your help if they wish to rebuild. In the wake of calamity, there's much work to be done. Build a house for your people, help mold their life into something better, and guard them. Vicious animals, dangerous robbers, and other hazards are still out there. Don't let your people suffer again.

CREATE THE PERFECT STRONGHOLD

Start small, with only a wooden cottage. Over time your town will become one massive stone fortress. Take advantage of the easy-to-use 3D landscape tools to design the ideal stronghold, from twisting subterranean caves to gigantic and complex forts.

DEFEND WHAT'S YOURS

After you buy a Going Medieval key, you're going to learn that the world after the plague still hosts many dangers. But this time, your people have you. And you're able to give them an advantage in fights by erecting impenetrable defenses and traps. They must research, construct, and equip powerful weapons and equipment. That's the only way to repel the endless waves of invaders.

SAFEGUARD YOUR PEOPLE

Your colonists must deal with more than just raids. They also require protection from more destructive and natural occurrences like famine and the elements. Always store up on food and construct shelters to keep your people nourished and warm. Maintaining the emotional states of your people is also a must. People's moods can change in the blink of an eye if their needs and desires are not addressed.

CREATE YOUR OWN STORY

There are many ways for you to increase the population of your town. Assist strangers in difficult situations or accept like-minded travelers. Getting to know your people is also essential, as they all have their personal histories and objectives. You may learn about such things by studying their behavior and interactions with others

Greetings medievalists! We talked about wild animals, now let’s do domestic ones. Look at (some of) them! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34559289/8c53a5b520d4e8ac0bb86f9aaae70b27913e18f8.png Domestic animals Domestic animals can be bred (their offspring will be domestic), you can harvest their resources, they can be slaughtered for meat and/or be used for caravans (expanding weight size and giving you the option to sell that animal to another settlement. All wild animals can be domesticated, but that proces...

Greetings medievalists! Aaand we’re back to animals. As we mentioned previously, the animal system is receiving a major overhaul. So, let’s discuss what that means. Animals will have genders - being male or female will influence what they’ll be able to give to you and in what way. You’ll not be able to get eggs from male chickens (roosters), because that would be silly. We’re also adding animal aging - aging will dictate what type of resources they’ll give and in what amount. For example: younge...

Greetings medievalists! We mentioned in the previous Medieval Monday Talk that we’re working on animals, and that’s still true, but just setting that process takes time. Even simple things like animating them, have to go through several iterations. Here’s what we mean: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34559289/f92252aafbebe640aabbd1bf405d90ea4b4e4f52.gif But, that doesn’t stop us from setting up other things, like wall racks. Remember our Wall Deer Head Decoration? {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34559289/4e39946ecba84533...

Greetings medievalists! Time for another Medieval Monday Talk and this one is about a feature that many of you requested since the game went live - Animal Husbandry. There is a lot to talk about, and we’ll use upcoming Medieval Talks to provide more details. But for now, one step at a time. Let’s talk about Animal Panel. There is going to be a new tab entitled “ANIMALS” located in the upper part of the screen. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34559289/23695b3746eafad6a6c136034546071c8883e02f.png Selecting it ...

Greetings medievalists! Time for another Medieval Monday Talk. We were pondering for a bit on how to present what we are working on since there is a lot of technical things happening under the hood. But, we’ll try our best. Let’s talk about pathfinding. When it comes to settlers' navigation in our medieval colony sim… there is a lot left to be desired. Let’s take a simple movement, like walking diagonally. Here it is how it looked before: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34559289/65c1a48c820f1b3d16a0a4070ca5e...
