Mafia III is an open-world action game about crime, family, betrayal, and violence. The game was developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games. It was released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in October 2016.
The year is 1968, and Lincoln Clay, the man we play as, has to learn the true definition of family. It isn't who you're born with, family is who you die for, and Lincoln learns this lesson in the hardest of ways. He's back home in New Bordeaux and the only thing Lincoln wants to do is escape his dangerous criminal past. But, the past caught up to him, and now the black mob, which he considered to be his surrogate family, gets betrayed and crushed by the Italian Mafia. Our hero wants his revenge, and on top of the ashes of his former family, he builds a new one, with military-grade revenge on his mind for those that are responsible.
Mafia III has action-packed gunfights, smart hand-to-hand combat to show you how much pain you can inflict with only your arms and your legs, an open world filled with opportunity for those that know how to seize it, and more. This is a city where you can't get to the top of the underworld easily. But, with a proper crew, some difficult decisions, and a lot of blood on your hands, you can get there.
New Bordeaux is a reimagined 1968 New Orleans, and it's a huge and distinct open world filled with all kinds of beautiful sights. However, even though it is filled with rich details, it is also a city ruled by the mob and corrupt officials. Your job is to make it known that there is no man or organization out there that will ever again lay a hand on your family.
We play as a deadly anti-hero, Lincoln Clay, a Vietnam veteran and orphan with a passionate rage inside him that's directed towards the Italian Mafia. They are the ones that slaughtered the black mob, the only thing he had which resembled a family, and they will pay.
Brutal force, silent approach, guerilla tactics, use whatever means you want to take down your enemies. Lincoln's military training helps him greatly in his cause. Buy Mafia III right now and create your own criminal empire that will stand atop of New Bordeaux as a supreme organization that no one dares to challenge!

Mafia 3 was not great, but it did get credit for tackling the rampant racism of its 1960s New Orleans setting head-on—a "bold, subversive move" in a game that was otherwise a pretty big letdown. It turns out that it was actually toned down somewhat prior to release: At one point it ...
Mafia 3 opens with a documentary-style montage and potted history of the game's main character, Lincoln Clay, whose body and life you jump into shortly after he returns from the war in Vietnam. But the game didn't always open this way. Once upon a time Mafia 3 had a far more explosive start, a 'cold...
