The rebirth of the classic action FPS / RTS hybrid "Savage 1" is here! Experience fast-paced combat and cunning strategic gameplay in glorious Unreal 4 environments. Engage in epic 16v16 front-line combat, or take Command to outplay and outmaneuver your team's way to victory.

Savage is a multiplayer-only game with a competitive focus. Combat includes both melee and shooter aspects, and should challenge even seasoned gamers. Servers are currently located in the US, EU, and AUS with more planned. Players may also host their own servers, use ours, or play offline!

As a member of the fearsome Beasts or crafty Humans, you must fight to:

  • Secure strategic resources and positions
  • Craft and expand your team's buildings and structures
  • Research and acquire new weapons and items, to gain the upper hand in combat
  • Crush your opponents with mighty siege weapons, sneaky sabotage, or by strangling their economy

Right now the game has the following features:

  • 8v8 Competitive matches
  • Custom matches on official dedicated servers, or hosted locally, or fully offline!

  • Bots! You can sharpen your skills in practice matches, or they can fill missing player or commander slots in Casual matches

During Early Access we plan to:

  • Work with the community to improve and expand our core gameplay*
  • Expand our Map offerings
  • Create new, fun, game modes
  • Create new features, as requested by the community
  • Polish and tweak art and interfaces
  • Create desirable cosmetic items

*We decided the best way to create the optimal modern Savage experience was to take Savage 1 as our starting point, then continue developing the game in concert with our community through the Early Access program and beyond.

Our continuing development is funded largely by cosmetic item purchases: there is no persistent power progression system, there are no paid upgrades or boosts. This is a competitive game: there will be no Pay2Win.

General: Added a new map, Crossroads. This large classic map features numerous paths converging on a single crunch point in the center. Balance: Fire ward and land mine slow is now countered by splash damage immunity, and has slightly reduced duration. Fixes: Fixed some issues with repeater and blaze sounds. Fix for corpses standing up sometimes. Fix for occasional mesh falling through ground after being knocked back. Fixed an instance that could lead to an alive player being in ragdoll.


Balance: Fire ward and land mines: Damage reduced 500-200. Added a 3s slow to anyone damaged. Hitboxes (when you shoot at them) increased. General: Added Lair and Stronghold death effects. Added Predator and Shaman cosmetics. Optimizations: Visibility and stealth calculations optimized. Building and weapon tick optimizations. Character death optimizations. Balance: Spawn flags now take 2.5x as long to capture. You'll need to be sneakier or bring friends to ninja capture a flag now. General: Made the building under attack alerts a bit smarter, improved their throttling. Added a Melee trace helper to the practice mode F10/Esc menu. This is only available in solo practice as it requires you to be the server. Added more UI options, such as the ability to disable score popups. Fixes: NPC corpses are cleaned up a bit faster now. Howdy, Savages! We finished a few little extras and decided to squeeze them in before the epic Savage weekend! General: Important gameplay event alerts have moved from the kill log to a more prominent top center location, and have been improved. Buildings under attack will now display their health, and losing buildings will display what technology was lost (if any) to help communicate the importance of their defense.
