  • The Final Station

The world is over. Or at least, that's what people keep saying. However, you know that it's not over, or at the very least, it's not over for you. Because you have something that can save lives, you have the potential to keep the world going, and you're going to fight for each inch that you take. This is the survival game known as The Final Station. For in this game, you are the conductor of a train, one that is carrying survivors from the end of the world, and it's your job to get them to safety, and you will do just that.
But, in a world filled with infected beings, it's not going to be easy. Whether you're on the tracks, or stopped at a station, you can be attacked at any time. You'll need to load up and be ready to take them out. For if you don't, your survivors will be in danger, and that's something you can't afford.
The Final Station has a five-chapter story that'll test how far you will go for the people on your train. Will you fight to your dying breath to keep them alive? If they start to cause trouble, will you get rid of them to protect the rest? When you reach a station, will you risk getting hurt to find potential supplies, or even survivors? These are the questions you'll need to ask yourself. All the while maintaining your train, for if it falls apart, you are as good as dead.

  • A post-apocalyptic adventure about travelling a dying world on a train
  • A story that goes through 5 chapters, with large inhabited stations at the end of each one.
  • Infected are ready to stop your progress whenever you exit the train to look for supplies
  • Maintain your train in operating condition and craft valuable items from the resources you scavenge
  • Don't expect to shoot your way through the crowds of infected. Supplies and ammo are very limited
  • Pick up survivors along the way, gaining perks (and hindrances) for your troubles
  • Scavenge for loot at stations and craft useful supplies
  • Sell your loot at inhabited stations for useful upgrades to your weapons

Most of the time, when it comes to Humble Bundles, I tell people to stop being so damn cheap and just buy the whole thing. In the case of the new Humble TinyBuild Bundle, however, I will make an exception. The full collection is a good deal, as usual, but if you're really only willing to spend a single lousy dollar, then this is the place to do it.  That $1 will get you The Final Station, a Russian post-apocalyptic zombie survival train ride that I absolutely loved: It's weird and...

While it still bears some reputation as a scrappy little browser-game toolset (and that’s no bad thing – it enabled much of the GMTK 2018 jam recently), ubiquitous game development platform Unity has spread to all corners. While I don’t have a single creative bone in my body, the Humble Unity Bundle contains a pile of Unity tools and assets to build your dream game. Even if you’re not the creative type, there’s some good Unity-based games in here too, including ninj...

The Humble Unity Bundle, featuring games built with the Unity game engine, is maybe not the most excitingly-named Humble Bundle of all time, but it's definitely one of the better packages to come along in a very long time. For $1, you'll get Oxenfree and Aer: Memories of Old, plus Inventory Pro, UFPS: Ultimate FPS, and FlowCanvas, which are not actually games but asset packs from the Unity Asset Store.  Things start to get interesting when you beat the average price, which is alre...

Choo-choo! The Final Station is arriving to Nintendo Switch North America TOMORROW! Europe release is on Feb 27th. Let's celebrate with this trailer:

Have You Played? is an endless stream of game retrospectives. One a day, every day, perhaps for all time. The Final Station is a sidescrolling action game set in a world that’s been overrun by inky zombie-like creatures. Luckily, you’re just the kind of hero the world needs: a train driver. (more…)
