About Yooka-Laylee

Yooka-Laylee is an open-world platformer made by Playtonic Games. The game features stunning worlds where we will get to meet all sorts of interesting characters and obtain loads of sparkling collectibles. We will join Yooka and Laylee on their epic quest to ruin the plan of the evil Capital B who's trying to absorb all the books from the world and then turn them into profit.

Yooka and Laylee have a lot of unique moves that they can use to solve all the puzzles and the platforming challenges as they search for the golden bounty known as the Pagies. Pagies allows them to unlock and even expand new worlds filled with all sorts of quirky characters, huge bosses, interesting quiz shows, and much more. Players can customize their playstyle by using special Tonic gameplay modifiers. Your worlds can be expanded into complex playgrounds. Collect all sorts of collectibles in the game, like the Butterfly Energy or the Ghost Writers.

The game's characters are all drawn amazingly and the graphics in Yooka-Laylee are cheerful and vibrant. The music in the game was made by David Wise and Grant Kirkhope, so you can expect an immensely enjoyable melodic experience as you go through the beautiful worlds of Yooka-Laylee. You can even play with a friend in the co-op mode where the second player has the ability to stun enemies and help out with some more tricky challenges.

Chinese tech conglomerate Tencent has bought a minority stake in Playtonic, the Derby-based developer behind Yooka-Laylee. Playtonic has not disclosed how much of the company it had sold, but confirmed it still retained ownership of its IP.
