A Kickstarter For A WoW Diary Has Launched

WoW definitely has fans out there that love the game to death. It’s an MMORPG that launched way back in 2004 and it’s still well alive after 14 years. Today we will talk about a certain Kickstarter campaign that is related to WoW, in quite a weird way. John Staats, who’s WoW’s first 3D level designer, wants to make a WoW Diary. This diary will cover everything from the game’s early development to the launch.

WoW

John was the man that designed one of your favorite vanilla dungeons like Blackwing Lair, Blackrock Mountain, Molten Core, The Wailing Caverns, and loads of others. He is definitely a veteran designer, so would you pay to see how vanilla WoW got shaped before it was finally released in 2004? Since he was quite an outsider when it came to the video game industry, John had a bit of trouble when he first joined Blizzard Entertainment, so he tried to learn as much as he can by interviewing the people he worked with, taking notes on everything that was even a bit important, and so on, and all of this is contained within the WoW Diary. This book will give you a huge insight into the development on one of the most influential MMORPGs in the history of gaming. It features over 130 annotated images that will be printed on paper stock of high quality.

A true WoW fan probably won’t find $40 to be an expensive price to pay in order to find out how their favorite game was made, and even people that have a desire to become a part of the vast gaming industry can gain useful knowledge from it!
