Another Ban Wave Hits Heroes of the Storm

Don’t be that guy that leaves the game if a match goes south. Play the game until you win or lose, there is no shame in losing, but in a competitive genre, there is no such mindset. Everyone wants to win in a MOBA game, and Heroes of the Storm isn’t much different, but Blizzard is making sure that everyone who leaves the game, doesn’t play, or just downright feeds (intentionally dies over and over again) gets banned. Removing such players is one of the things that is key to making a MOBA a less toxic environment, and Blizzard is on the right path.

Heroes of the Storm

Heroes of the Storm doesn’t have many players, and since Blizzard is regularly banning those that are toxic, we are afraid that in the end, there will be no one left to play the game. Let’s be real here, all MOBA players have some toxicity in them, as that’s just how it ends up when you play a game of this genre for long periods of time. But, removing the most extreme players of this kind is necessary, and Blizzard said in their official post:

Going AFK, refusing to participate, and intentionally dying are behaviors that ruin the experience for everyone else in a match and undermine the spirit of competition that’s essential to Heroes of the Storm. Taking part in these actions will not be tolerated, and we will continue to suspend and ban players who do. We’d like to thank those of you who use the relevant in-game reporting options when you spot these negative behaviors in your matches, and encourage you to continue doing so.

So, what do you have to do? Just play the match. Doesn’t matter if you win or lose, just try your hardest and try not to get too upset if you lose. Remember, it’s only a video game!
