What are your thoughts on time travel? It is one of those concepts that sounds really fun, but are difficult to execute in a game, as it isn’t really easy making time travel mechanics work. But, Grinding Gear Games, the studio behind Path of Exile, just released the Incursion League for their action RPG, and it looks like it’s a lot of fun time traveling. Well, wouldn’t you find exploring dungeons in the past fascinating? Especially when you consider that this is the time when you could get some loot that isn’t available anywhere else?
First of all, if you want to mess with the past, you need to find Alva Valai. Then there are 11 portals that take you to the Temple of Atzoatl, where you can find these Temporal Incursions. To make a long story short, you get to kill all sorts of enemies, get loot, and then you have two Vaal Architects, and depending on which one you kill, the function of the room you’re in will change.
When you complete all of the Temporal Incursions, you go to a specific location inside the Temple but it is set in the present day. Basically, then you enter a dungeon that was made by your choices that you’ve made in the past. It is a really fun feature, and it is a lot of fun, so if you haven’t played Path of Exile in a long time, you should hop back and try the Incursion League.
