Assassin’s Creed finally takes us to Japan in their newest title Assassin’s Creed Codename Red. Feudal Japan and assassins are the perfect combination. It’s strange that Ubisoft decided to combine these two just now, many years after the first AC game came out.
Codename Red takes AC to Japan
Unfortunately, we don’t know much about Codename Red. The game has one very short trailer that shows very little. We see a ninja carrying a hidden blade and a Japanese short sword. The elusive ninja lands on a tiled roof, and that’s it.
Considering the lack of information on the game, Codename Red won’t come out anytime soon. Marc-Alexis Côté, the Vice President Executive Producer of the entire Assassin’s Creed franchise, described the game as “the future of Ubisoft open-world RPGs”, a bold claim that places a lot of expectations on this game.
Ubisoft has the unique ability to perfectly blend ninjas and assassins, and that’s what the fans have wanted for the longest time. Codename Red finally sends Assassin’s Creed to Japan, but we won’t see the final product anytime soon. Considering the lack of solid info about the game, it’s safe to say Codename Red will have a release date announced in a year or so.
Feudal Japan is the perfect place for an AC game
Codename Red continues Ubisoft’s latest RPG approach to the Assassin’s Creed games, but the most exciting part is witnessing what kind of parkour marvels will we see in Feudal Japan. Japan’s architecture from that period is outstanding. Combine that with the fact that Ubisoft is capable of creating mesmerizing cities perfect for agile exploration. What do you get? The potential to see the best Assassin’s Creed game yet.
