Bloodborne Developers Talk About Easter Egg

FromSoftware is a pretty interesting development team, because they like to make some of the toughest video games in the world. And that’s not just my line of thought, it’s the thoughts of millions who have played their games. Dark Souls was a massive hit with its trilogy, and then, they made a “spinoff” of sorts with Bloodborne, which was also very successful. So successful in fact that fans have been wanting a sequel for some time now, but the dev team haven’t budged on giving them one. Or have they?

Earlier this year, FromSoftware released a game called Deracine, and in that game was a reference to Bloodborne via a doll. And many have speculated that this could be the clue that a sequel is indeed on the way.

Hidetaka Miayzaki, who is the head of FromSoftware, spoke with Spanish site Xataka about the reference, and what it could mean for the future.

Dark Souls: Remastered

“Actually, this is exactly the conversation that my team and I had. It’s the kind of conversation we keep during development, because there are Easter eggs. However, the Easter egg in itself is not indicative that we are going to launch Bloodborne 2. I’m not in a position to talk about a possible release of Bloodborne 2. However, we love Bloodborne; that’s why this easter egg has aroused so much curiosity. But, I repeat, it’s not a Bloodborne 2 notice. It’s just something that we explored among ourselves, because we love Bloodborne.”

So if we take the words at their face value, then it would seem to indicate that a sequel could be coming, it’s just that they’re so early in development on it that they don’t want to say anything. I say this because in the past, they have often been very blunt in regards to things they aren’t going to do. So maybe this is something they’re going to do
