Bungie Apologizes For Faction Rally Faults In Destiny 2

You have to wonder if Bungie is learning anything these days. We don’t say that lightly, as we know they’re a talented video game studio, they’ve proven that many times, but with Destiny 2, things just keep getting stranger, and more complicated. Which, leads to fan anger, which leads to the game changing, and then the inevitable apology from Bungie usually follows. Case and point, Faction Rally came back for Season 02, and it had some changes that didn’t make sense to players, which got them mad, and now Bungie is apologizing and promising to make changes.

Ironically, it was two different things that were causing issues in Faction Rally. First off was the Tokens. Players complained that the Tokens were coming to easily to those who wouldn’t even do anything in the matches. What’s more, some players weren’t getting Tokens at all, or even weapons for drops in chests. On their website, Bungie apologized for this and promised a better solution:

“We’re looking at a change that won’t make players feel forced to run to and from a single chest for hours while also not placing a hard stop on enjoying Lost Sectors. We want to ensure that every time you open a chest there is loot inside.”

But wait, there’s more, the other big controversy was that despite Bungie saying that there would be 5 new weapons for each faction in the new season of Faction Rally, they didn’t mention that they would be distributed throughout the season, instead of during the season like past Faction Rallies. This really ticked off players and Bungie has promptly apologized for that too:

“It was not made clear beforehand that the new Season 2 weapons would be added throughout the events of the Season rather than all at once in the beginning. This was on us. No excuses.”

Once again, Bungie has promised to change things for the better, but will it actually happen? That remains to be seen.
