Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Getting Remastered?

Let’s rewind a bit, shall we? Call of Duty set the tone for what a true WWII shooter should be. But, after many years, and many games, depicting the legendary war, they knew they had to do something different. And from that desire came Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. A game set in the modern age of combat and tactics, as well as weapons and gear. Given a more detailed look and new story, players latched onto it, and made it a bit success. So, they naturally made Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and then 3.

Fast forward to 2016, and the original Call of Duty Modern Warfare got a remastering, and it sold rather well. Whether it was a desire to go back to the original game that changed the formula, or just wanting to see how it would do with a graphical upgrade, people got it. And now, a listing on Amazon Italy is saying that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is coming back with a remastering of its own.

The listings show it coming to the Xbox One and PS4 (though PC is more than likely to happen as well). Due to the prices that people are seeing on the listing, many feel this is a placeholder until more details come out about the game. It’s very possible that it will be announced soon, and possibly before E3 2018. When Modern Warfare got its remaster, they launched it very close to that years new Call of Duty title, Infinite Warfare. So, with Black Ops 4 coming, we could see Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 arrive around that time as well.

Modern Warfare 2 tried to “up the ante” in terms of what happened in the story, as well as the gameplay, but that led to many controversial decisions, including an opening scene where players could be terrorists and get to shoot civilians. It’ll be interesting to see if any major changes are made to the game if it’s really coming.
