The Call of Duty franchise has been exclusively available on the Battle.net platform for a long time. But the latest entry in the franchise is available on Steam. But this piece of news leaves a bitter aftertaste. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will cost $70. This makes it the first game to charge more for its standard edition on PC.
This trend isn’t anything new. Sony is charging $70 for all of its PS5 exclusives. Other publishers are also trying their luck with their newest releases. Don’t get it confused, we’ve been getting CoD games for $70 for a couple of years now. The problem is, now is the first time that the price tag increase appeared on the PC.
Will this push work? The benefits of PC games are the digital distribution platforms that offer regular discounts for games, be they old or new.
