Call of Duty: WWII St. Patrick’s Day Event Has Gone Live

For developers, one of the easiest things to develop is events based around holidays. For all you really need to do is pick out a theme, see what you can do with it, and then implement it into the game. Well, St. Patrick’s day is coming up soon, and Call of Duty: WWII is making sure they have it covered, for they have just launched “Operation Shamrock and Awe”, and event that will have you seeing green, leprechauns, and undead leprechauns. No, we’re not joking on that last one.

As revealed on the Call of Duty: WWII website, this new operation comes along with many new updates for the game. First up, the team is making it so you not only have more ways to get weapons in the game, but they’re giving you more to get. From weapons, to customizable aspects, uniforms, and more, Sledgehammer is making so you can get what you want.

They’re even making it so duplicates don’t pop up as often, and new paths to get certain items and weapons that you may crave.

What’s that? You want to know more about Operation: Shamrock and Awe? Well, the event is on now, and it’ll give you the chance to get some St. Patrick’s day themed weapons. There’s also going to be a little mini-event going on the 16th-19th. Where if you play Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed or Domination, you’ll have the chance to kill a little undead leprechaun for a reward:

“A fleet-footed zombie leprechaun hidden in each map. Players who eliminate the terrifying little sprite are rewarded with something better than a pot o’ gold – all of their equipped Scorestreaks full and ready to deploy.”

So yeah, it’s going to be a good holiday for the game. Make sure you get in your time with it during the week and weekend.
