Is the Curse of Roadhog Appearing Now for Doomfist In Overwatch?

One of the biggest and ongoing complaints in Overwatch is about the characters. Some are OP, some need to be closer to OP, some need to be nerfed, some need to be buffed, some attacks are WAY to powerful, and so on and so forth. It gets really hard to determine what is real, and what is just plain conjecture. With the arrival of Doomfist, you knew that someone was going to complain about him. But in a fun twist, one players complaint has to do with a previously nerfed character, and the reasoning behind that nerf that’s apparently a double standard.

Reddit user _Robbie notes how Doomfist is like Roadhog. Not in the fact that Doomfist is OP, but rather, that Doomfist is able to do a one-hit kill, which is what Overwatch Director Jeff Kaplan said was the reason behind Roadhog’s nerfing earlier in the year:

“Jeff Kaplan’s justification for the Roadhog nerf was that one shot kills were bad. Doomfist can one-hit kill 18 of the 25 heroes.”

Overwatch

No matter what way you look at it, 18/25 is a big fraction, and poses a very curious problem and dilemma for Blizzard. Because Kaplan really did say that one-hit combo killers are bad, yet here is Doomfist with a high-quality combo killer. What’s more, _Robbie states that other heroes, like Hanzo, have similar OHK’s, and that’s causing a problem.

To be clear, he notes that Hanzo and Doomfist are NOT in the same caliber of Roadhog in regards to how much of a pain he was. Roadhog was truly a perfect storm of powerful attacks, high defense, and high HP that made him such a pain, these two aren’t that. What this is about is the fact that Blizzard seems to not care about all one-hit killer moves, but just some of them, despite them saying they care about them all.

What do you think? Should all OHK’s in the game be removed? Let us know in the comments below!

Better remove widow and hanzo then too, if one shot kills are so bad.
