An extensive interview with the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 reveals how this RPG wants to be different from the rest.

The people behind the Witcher 3 want to make another excellent RPG. They obviously have the skill for that, but they need to know exactly what they’re doing with Cyberpunk 2077 since a lot of people are expecting great things from this title. But, what separates CD Projekt Red from other devs is the fact that they aren’t afraid of experimenting. An interview found in the Edge Magazine (that the people from MMORPG.com gave us an insight into) dives deeper into the thought process behind the making of one of the most anticipated games in recent memory.

CD Projekt Red wants to show the game industry how to do things. Well, this is something that we like to see. Confident developers that have already proven themselves with their skill and talent. See, the thing with these people is that they don’t like doing things in one way. Most powerhouses in the gaming industry today just go with the safest option. Something that they know everyone is going to like. The interview says that the Witcher turn out good and that Cyberpunk 2077 is going to turn out really good because CD Projekt Red isn’t afraid of change.

A new animation system and an enormous open world that is being hand-crafted. Things like this make sure that the world of the game is captivating and immersive. Add the fact that the guys and gals over at CD Projekt Red treat their side quests with respect is another thing entirely. Most games usually have dumb and boring side missions, objectives, and quests. They act like filler to give you something to do until you come around and start the main quest. But, the side quests in Cyberpunk 2077 are held up to crazy standards. That’s why they won’t ever feel like filler or boring content. Or at least that’s what the developers claim.

Patrick Mills also said: “if the player can logically do it, then they can and if they can’t, then we have to come up with a damn good reason why” and that is the way every developer needs to think. Just give us the option of doing anything that our mind comes up with and we’ll be happy. This is why we’re expecting so much from this game and these developers. They don’t think like most other devs do, and they understand what RPGs are all about.
