Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Has Sold Very Well On Nintendo Switch

The Dragon Ball franchise has had plenty of games over the years, but the best ones are the ones that build up the franchise and showcase it in special and unique ways. That’s exactly what Dragon Ball Xenoverse and its sequel Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 did when they launched. For they told a gripping story while also maintaining the action and style that the anime series is known for. But one of the biggest deals was when Xenoverse 2 came to the Nintendo Switch.

This had been the first time in a while that a Dragon Ball game had come to a Nintendo console, and publisher Bandai Namco had high hopes for the game. Or, maybe they didn’t, it depends on how you look at it. For some fans, there was a very selfish reason to get the game on Switch, and apparently, that selfishness spread like wildfire in Japan. For on Twitter, the official account for Dragon Ball games posted that in Japan, the game has sold 500,000 physical copies. To the point where the game is sold out, and will be restocked in February.

Dragon ball Xenoverse 2

That’s a staggering number, and remember, that’s just one country. While we don’t think that the US, the UK, or a single other country has that many sales on their own, when you combine the possible numbers, it could mean that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has close to 1 million sales on the Switch. Possibly, that must be said again.

So, what does this mean? Well, given its success, Bandai Namco will likely be bringing more Dragon Ball games to the Switch. Which is great, because that’s what players want. Specifically, they want a port of Dragon Ball FighterZ on the Switch. Which ironically, is the reason why many bought Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, for Bandai Namco said that if Xenoverse 2 did well, they would consider bringing FighterZ to the console. Well, the players held up their end of the bargain, your move Bandai Namco.
