Another Fortnite playtester leaked something he shouldn’t have, and now Epic Games are taking them to court.
Has a month passed since the last playtester that leaked something related to Fortnite’s Chapter 2 got sued? I don’t think it has, but here we are. Another playtester, this one’s from Canada, did the same thing. Epic Games have filed a statement of claim against Lucas Johnston, according to globalnews.ca. These guys have a way of building up hype and anticipation regarding their upcoming content. Fortnite’s Chapter 2 had a lot of mystery behind it months before the grand update arrived. That’s why a leak that reveals any of the new and exciting stuff is really damaging. That information is “highly confidential”, so under no circumstances should you leak it.
Well, Lucas will find out the hard way that Epic Games doesn’t play when it comes to things like this. He said he took the screenshot of the new online map. But, Lucas also stated that he doesn’t know how his screenshot ended up being leaked on a Fortnite Competitions’ official user forum. Whatever the case may be, since this is a violation of a non-disclosure agreement Lucas signed when he became a playtester, a fine over $85,000 awaits him. If he does not manage to prove his innocence that is.
Don’t mess with Epic Games, they are very aggressive if you mess with their intellectual property. But, if you aren’t looking to leak any Fortnite information, I have a deal for you. There’s a bunch of Fortnite bundles available on HRK Game for a really cheap price. Want some cool cosmetics sets and a bunch of V-buck? Head over there and check all that out!
