Fallout 4: New Vegas Team Talk Maintaining Quality Amidst Struggles

Mods are without a doubt one of the most freeing aspects of video gaming. After all, you’re taking a game or project and putting your own twist on things. Some of the most fun titles ever made were either mods, or based on mods. And that goes for RPGs as well. The Fallout franchise is legendary for its mods, and one group is taking it to the next level with Fallout 4: New Vegas, which is bringing the beloved New Vegas location into the Fallout 4 world with all it has to offer.

Team F4NV have been working very hard on not just making this, but delivering a quality experience that they are known for. However, after meeting with Bethesda about this mod, they hit a roadblock of sorts. in order to get approval for this mode, pretty much every piece of audio needs to be replaced.

Now, the team admits that they were planning to replace or “enhance” certain music and effects that were going to be in Fallout 4: New Vegas, but it is bringing some hurdles.

Fallout 4: New Vegas

“What is likely most concerning to many fans is the radio music – for many, the radio stations in New Vegas are core to their perception of the game and the way that they experience it. Due to the copyright status of the music used in Fallout: New Vegas, it’s impossible for F4NV to use it. To do so would require licensing the track, which is far outside the budgetary scope of F4NV. This means we’ll be searching for tracks to replace the originals, and – like much of the project – aim to create something that embraces the stylistic feel of the original, while still offering something new.”

What also is concerning to them is the voice acting. They have to re-voice all the characters and lines, and they feel this will be a struggle to maintain the quality of the game and the type of quality they are known for in their mods.

They’re going to keep pushing though, and they can’t wait to reveal what they have.
