Far Cry 5 Arcade Mode To Feature Items From Other Ubisoft Games

In three weeks time, Ubisoft will be releasing their next major title, Far Cry 5. Ubisoft has been working very hard to ensure that this game not only is the biggest and best of all the Far Cry games, but also, that it offers anyone who plays it a lot of options. Not just in the storyline, but beyond it. To that end, the game will have a map editor feature dubbed Far Cry Arcade, and it’s not exactly what you’re expecting.

You see, Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 also had a map editor function, and it let you do what you want within reason with a certain amount of assets that could be found within those perspective games. However, Ubisoft is once again going that extra mile with Far Cry 5, as they’ll allow players to use the map editor to build whatever they want, including using assets from other Ubisoft titles:

“We want to make sure that if you wanted to use [Assassin’s Creed] assets, you could,” said Dan Hay, Far Cry 5’s Creative Director. “You wanna use Watch Dogs assets? You can… they’re integrated right into the game.”

So, if you want to go out of Montana (where Far Cry 5 is set) and go to some of the other cities in the Ubisoft universe? Go ahead. You can make multiplayer maps, you can make missions, you can make basically anything you want, and that’s exactly what Ubisoft wanted. They noted that though they had a map editor in the previous two games, it wasn’t exactly what they wanted it to be. It didn’t add to the game as much as they wanted. With Far Cry Arcade though, they finally got to go full force on it.

You’ll get to test out how it goes when the game releases on March 27th.
