Far Cry 5’s Companions Detailed

Far Cry 5 is aiming to be much different than its predecessors in virtually every way. Sure, it’ll be an FPS game that’s open world, and you’ll get to make choices on what side you take in a conflict, which here feature a cult living in Montana, but there are differences here too. For not only is Ubisoft setting it up to where you don’t have to do the main quest for a long time, but they’re making sure whatever you do, you don’t have to do it alone.

For in the game, you’ll get companions, or you can hire some help via mercenaries. Either way, whoever you choose, you’ll be able to command them in the field. They’ll literally be a part of how you play the game. And because of that, there’s many options for who you pick, and by extension, how you play. Fandom decided to break down their time with the game by detailing some of the companions you can have.

Far Cry 5

For example, if you’re wanting to do more of a “stealth” run in the game, and want to slowly pick apart the cult, then you might want to choose Grace Armstrong, who is a certified sniper. You can literally tell her when to lock on to a target, then take it out, which can be invaluable in the field.

If you’re look for a more loyal and close by companion, then you’ll want to choose Boomer, who is a dog. A very epic dog, mind you. This canine will be by your side if you choose him, and will help you not only scout out the area you’re in, but take down enemies if they approach. Heck, he’ll even fetch you weapons.

Last, but not least, is Nick Rye, a pilot who will always be overhead to help you out. You can summon strafing runs with his guns, or, you can have him do bombing runs on your foes. Either way, it’s death from above.

Far Cry 5 will have even more options than these, but it’s good to know now the options you have so you can plan out how you’ll play the game.
