Final Fantasy XV Mod Brings Several Performance Improvements

You may well be familiar with a modder known as Kaldaien, who is renowned for work done on NieR: Automata with the FAR mod. Now, he has released a mod for Final Fantasy XV, one which offers performance improvements, plus better loading times and texture streaming whilst using the High-Resolution texture pack.

The modder has stated that the Steam version of the game loads input icons whenever it sees inputs from keyboard and mouse combinations or gamepad. Therefore, there might be some issues for certain users on Steam, with the potential for additional hitches to occur. Even so, this mod is able to work around the issue simply by stopping the game from being able to see the input events, which is good news.

Also, the mod has a fix for excessive SteamAPI overhead, which causes there to be a long load screens and hitches, which occur during heavy texture streaming. The modder has stated that these longer loading times are not caused by Denuvo anti-tamper technology.

If you would like to download the mod, then you can do so right here. To install the mod, you will have to extract the zip file into the main folder of the game. Once you’ve installed it, you will need to press Ctrl + Shift + Backspace, which will open Special K’s configuration menu.
