Final Fantasy XV PC Version Was Planned At The Start Of Development

While Final Fantasy is one of the greatest franchises in all of video games, it hasn’t been a flawless run. In recent years, many have put out questions about whether Square Enix could recapture the magic of the series. Thankfully, that was proven true when Final Fantasy XV was released. The game featured a grand story, amazing characters, an open world, and detailed gameplay that have kept players occupied for many hours. It first came out for PS4 and Xbox One, and now, it’s about to arrive on PC.

The PC version has been a long time coming, and that was intentional. The team behind the game wanted to make sure that this version was as good as it possibly could be. And that meant taking the time to flesh out everything. In an interview with Rock Paper Shotgun though, development manager Kenichi Shida revealed that they had been always planned on bringing Final Fantasy XV to PC.

The PC version was planned right from the start of development. The reason that we obviously needed to take a bit more time to work on it and it wasn’t released simultaneously with the console version was that we didn’t want to leave it just being a basic port. We really wanted to use that time to bring out the extra power you can get from the capabilities of the PC.

This makes a ton of sense, especially since while consoles are stagnant in their upgrades hardware wise, PC’s improve every year. So that meant more development time. It’s also nice to see that they didn’t want the game to be a “basic port”, because there have been plenty of console AAA titles that have had terrible PC ports.

What’s more, the game will be launching on PC when the a major Comrades multiplayer update will release, so you can look forward to that too.
