Fortnite Surpasses 45 Million Players

The popularity of Fortnite: Battle Royale continues to grow and thrive, as the early access title surpasses a massive 45 million players. Announced by Epic Games, the free to play mode has hit such a feat in the space of just 100 days, with Epic releasing the following trailer to showcase the first 100 days of the game’s release.

A number of statistics are also provided, including 5.6 billion gliders deployed, nearly 32 billion pieces built using wood, metal or stone, as well as over 573 billion shots fired. There has also been nearly 126 million wins recorded, so needless to say, it’s doing pretty well right now.

Meanwhile, an update to the game brings a complete overhaul of the island map, swapping out the seasonal features as well as introducing several quality-of-life changes. Despite this game being free, Epic are doing a fantastic job in keeping it regularly updated, which is something they have been very consistent with since it launched.

With this new update, as well as a number of other upcoming features that will be coming, it seems like a great time to check out Fortnite. You can do so on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, with the Battle Royale mode being available for free.
