The Game Developer’s Conference was postponed for two weeks or so ago. As we all know, the panic surrounding the coronavirus has been increasing. A majority of events where many people gather have been either canceled or postponed until further notice. However, the organizers of GDC have shared some rather spectacular news with us. GDC 2020 will be streamed online, so it isn’t completely canceled because of the coronavirus. Whatever the case may be, we’re getting 8 hours of GDC 2020 each day from 9 am to 5 pm PDT, from March 16th to March 20th.

For anyone that loves talks about creative development processes and philosophies, the introduction of new technologies, and for an insight into the making of new and classic games, this is terrific news. But, we won’t be getting everything that we could have gotten at the physical conference. Understandable, but it’s still sad that we’re going to miss out on the complete GDC 2020 package. You can tune into GDC Vault and watch it all for free. Don’t have the time to watch? No worries, the GDC YouTube channel will have most of the conference recorded and posted.
