Grand Theft Auto Online Getting “The Doomsday Heist”

Rockstar Games has been cleaning up profit wise because of their most recent additions to the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Grand Theft Auto V is considered the greatest GTA game ever, and continues to sell on numerous systems to an astonishing degree. How so? Well, despite the game coming out in 2013, the game still frequently makes the Top 10 list of games during the NPD results each month. Then, there’s Grand Theft Auto Online, which was not only the massively successful multiplayer aspect of the game, it’s one that continually grows and expands.

The proof of this isn’t hard to find, as Rockstar revealed that the next major addition to the game is coming on December 12th, and it will apparently be a very “epic” heist. As if to prove that, the title of this heist is “The Doomsday Heist”. Sound dramatic? Cool, but it’s not as “serious’ as you might expect. For as you’ll see in the trailer below, it takes cues from spy movies and cranks the insanity of it all up to 11.

“A billionaire tech mogul, an idealistic intelligence agent, a socially awkward conspiracy theorist and a neurotic supercomputer have been forced into an unlikely alliance to save San Andreas from total annihilation.” says the trailer’s Youtube description.

Yeah, that sounds epic, but wait! There’s further description of it all!

“As apocalyptic threats mount from enemies unknown, you and your criminal crew are enlisted to un-tangle mysteries and eradicate threats spanning from the bustling streets of downtown Los Santos to the ocean floor and all the way to the inner depths of Mount Chiliad in an epic new online adventure.”

See? Told you it was epic. Now, all Grand Theft Auto Online updates have been free, so it’s a safe bet this one will be too. And though “The Doomsday Heist” is the focus of this update, there’s something telling us that other additions like vehicles will be put into the game proper with it.
