The upcoming survival horror game titled The Callisto Protocol seems to be a part of the PUBG universe.

Two completely different games share a universe

PUBG is a battle royale game where a frying pan deflected bullets. The Callisto Protocol aims to be immersive and intense survival horror. Now you might be wondering, what do these have in common? Well, they are in the same universe. Glen Schofield, the head of Striking Distance, announced an original narrative set in the PUBG universe a while ago. Now we find out that this new game is survival horror. The Dead Space vibes are pretty apparent. A remote space station or something of the sort. Industrial sci-fi elements. And don’t forget horribly mutated monstrosities. Nevertheless, even though The Callisto Protocol may be the spiritual successor to Dead Space, the question is why is it set in the PUBG universe?

Does a horror game in the PUBG universe even make sense?

I mean PUBG is adding AI enemies. Maybe a future update adds mutated creatures for you to kill as well, thus connecting The Callisto Protocol with the PUBG universe on all fronts. Yet, I doubt that’s going to happen. To be honest I just want to see a frying pan in this survival horror game.

In conclusion, the connection between these two games isn’t apparent or logical. But, The Callisto Protocol is set 300 years after PUBG. Who knows, maybe the PUBG Corp adds some reference material to the battle royale later down the line.

What do you think, does it make sense for this game to be in the PUBG universe? Let me know your opinions in the comments section.

While we wait for The Callisto Protocol, why not get yourself a copy of PUBG which is available for a great price on HRK Game? But, maybe you’re more of a horror guy. In that case, you can pick up any of the Dead Space games for an awesome price as well!
