What Are They Key Differences On The Switch Version of Rocket League

Rocket League started out as a simple well-made title, but through popularity, word-of-mouth, and dedication by developer Psyonix, the game has grown into a worldwide phenomenon. The high-octane sports game has eSports tournaments, professional teams, and a massive fanbase that continues to grow. Through this fanbase, the game grew to not just PC, not just the Xbox One and PS4, but also, to the Nintendo Switch, which released last month. The console allows players to take Rocket League on the go, which is a truly interesting feature.

However, because of how different the system is, that means there are drawbacks to the port. While Psyonix made sure that the game has all the content that the other systems have, that doesn’t mean it perfectly matches up. There are smaller and more technical issues that have to be considered here. So, Red Bull decided to ask experts what they felt about the new port. And by “experts”, we mean the professional players of the title.

One of the general, and pretty much universally acknowledged, down notes that these players mentioned was that the framerate and graphics weren’t up to par with the console or PC versions of the game. Which was something that many were ok with giving the mobility aspect of the Switch version.

However, a more significant gripe is that the controls at times aren’t that responsive. This usually comes up when trying to perform a more complex set of moves, it doesn’t always work the first time. Plus, given how small the buttons are on the Joy-Cons, it can be easy to accidentally press the wrong one in the heat of a match.

Furthermore, the players agree that all tournaments should be kept on PC, and not put on any console including the Switch. That said, they did note that they wouldn’t mind playing the Switch version just for fun.
