LawBreakers Is Oficially Dead

We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but it seems LawBreakers is no more. The developers even removed the game from Steam by now.

LawBreakers

Entering the competitive shooter scene wasn’t a very smart idea when you had games like Fortnite and PUBG that were raining supreme. But, maybe that wasn’t the problem with LawBreakers. Something was, and the developers didn’t manage to address that problem in time. Games flop pretty quickly these days if they don’t get a lot of traction in the first 6 months after release.

It’s a shame too because the game had some quirky mechanics which made it stand out from other shooters of this kind. Unfortunately, the game had a nonexistent player base, which proved to be quite a problem in the end. Josh Rife tweeted on September 14th that the servers are closed, even though that tweet has since been deleted.

Props to PC Gamer for screenshotting the tweet before it was deleted. It is always a sad thing to see a game go. Video games are huge projects that require a lot of time and money. Once you invest a lot of time in a project, it must be heartbreaking to see it fail.

What do you think, will other upcoming competitive shooters meet the same fate? SCUM is one of the newest contenders, but it seems like that title is doing just fine.
