A long time after Lord of the Rings: Gollum got announced we now got our first screenshots that feature our hero’s new look.
Gollum is one of the most interesting characters in Lord of the Rings. You can’t tell me otherwise, as this dude was a cheerful and delightful Hobbit. That is until he got corrupted by the Ring. His story will be explored in the brand new Lord of the Rings: Gollum title that just released its first screenshots. Strangely, Gollum doesn’t look half as creepy as he did in the movies. Is that a bad thing? I’m not sure myself, but as long as they nail his split-personality I’m happy. And it seems that will be a thing. As we know, two entities inhabit the body of this small creature: Gollum and Sméagol. He constantly fights an inner battle between his good and evil side. I hope the exploration of that aspect gets deep as there’s a lot of interesting things they can do with that.
Daedalic Entertainment did a great job of making Mordor seem like an extremely hostile place. Smoldering shades of red paint the environments we will be sneaking through. Scary Orcs are also on every corner, and some screenshots even show GIGANTIC spiders. Seems like they’re a core part of every fantasy setting because of course they are.
There’s not a lot of new Lord of the Rings game out there right now. But, there are some outstanding ones that came in the last decade. The most notable ones are Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War, both of which are available on HRK Game for a crazy low price!
