Modders Issued With DMCA By CapCom Over Street Fighter Models

Capcom has issued a DMCA takedown notice to two costume modders for Street Fighter games on PC. BrutalAce and Khaledantar666 have worked on PC versions of Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter V, and are well known within the community based on their creations.

Capcom feel that the modders shouldn’t be compensated for using their copyrighted material, and as a result have issued a notice to the two. You may be familiar with the modders’ work, who have worked on the likes of well known characters such as Jill Valentine, Mai Shiranui, Zero Suit Samus and many others.

Both are also recognized for creating scantily-clad clothing for female fighters, which don’t leave much to the imagination, especially with the bikini mods that they’ve created, with Khaledantar666 also working on nude character models for Street Fighter.

It is unknown at this time whether or not Capcom will continue with this, with BrutalAce announcing that his modding days are over with for the time being via Patreon, whilst Khaledantar666 aims to continue to create mods regardless of whether or not Capcom push forward with it. Only time will tell if further action is taken, depending on what the next move is by either the modders or the company itself.
