Mortal Kombat 11 Getting Spawn? Will Be “E” For Everyone?

During The Game Awards two weeks back, Ed Boon took the stage to reveal the nominees for a category, but before that could happen, Scorpion entered the screen and kicked off a trailer for the reveal of Mortal Kombat 11. This trailer was everything that Mortal Kombat fans wanted and more, and best of all, it was revealed to be coming soon, and to all consoles and PC. However, there were still some questions, but one that may not have been asked was put forward by Ed Boon…it’s ESRB rating.

For on Twitter, Boon noted that Mortal Kombat 11 didn’t have an ESRB rating yet. So…

MK11 …. Rating Pending. So you never know….we might get that E (for Everyone) rating after all.

Oh, but the fun didn’t stop there, for the ESRB actually saw this tweet, and they reacted quite frankly by saying:

“Come on, Ed…”

Isn’t it great when people can have fun like this?

Now, onto more pressing questions, one of the real questions of MKXI is who will be in the game. Right now, we only know of Raiden, and two different versions of Scorpion. Shao Khan is going to be a pre-order character, and a new character was teased at the end of the reveal trailer, but that’s it.

However, during a Reddit AMA, Todd McFarlane was asked if his character Spawn would appear in the game. His response was:

“I believe he’s on the way.”

Granted, this is not a definitive confirmation, but if we’re being honest, it would be a rather odd lie to have. He could’ve easily said, “Maybe next time”, or “Maybe Spawn could be DLC”. But he’s basically saying he’ll be in the game.

For the record, this isn’t the first time that Spawn has been in a fighting game. He was the Xbox exclusive character for Soul Calibur II.
