Need For Speed Payback Getting Even More Changes

EA has been a source of news for a while now. Mainly because of the debacle with Star Wars Battlefront II’s progression system and in-game microtransactions. Which is starting to rile up some very powerful people in various countries. But, while they did change things for Battlefront II, fans of other EA games wanted similar treatment, and this included another recent release of theirs in Need For Speed Payback, which also had a progression system that many deemed as “too much”.

In a recent update, they admitted their mistakes and started to make changes. But apparently, it wasn’t enough for some gamers. So, in a blog post on the Need For Speed Payback site, the team at Ghost noted that more changes are coming, all of which are based on player feedback.

They outlined both current updates and ones that are coming in a patch. As well as noting future updates and progress that’s in the works. For example, players have been up in arms about the time it takes for parts to refresh in the tune-up shops. So now, it’s only a 10-minute wait. Furthermore, they’ll continue to work on the tune-up shops until it is a satisfactory service for all gamers.

As for what you can expect in the upcoming patch, there will be more “high-quality” parts in the tune-up shops for players to get. There will also be higher-quality cards that you can get via the rolls in the tune-up shops. If you win an event, you’ll now get more higher-level parts as your reward. And of course, there will be stability and gameplay quality improvements.

Bumps in the road aside, it is refreshing to see EA taking action and listening to players, as this is not just a gesture of good will, but potential an eye-opening experience for them so that these mistakes aren’t repeated again.
