Netflix’s The Witcher Won’t Be Kid-Friendly

The Witcher games definitely aren’t something that a small child should play, and the Netflix TV series is following in those footsteps.

As you can see from this one screenshot of the latest game in the Witcher franchise, the world that Geralt lives in isn’t a friendly one. There’s blood, gore, sexual themes, monsters, carnage, and much more dark and grimy themes that were wonderfully presented in the games. Hell, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is being celebrated as one of the best RPGs in the last 20 years, and rightfully so.

The point is that it is a fantasy world, but with humans. Actual humans, not fantasy world humans which are all so entirely evil or entirely good. The world and characters in the Witcher universe have so many shades to them. Which is why they will sometimes do really messed up things. We want to see that in The Witcher show that’s being done by Netflix. Thankfully, a couple of days ago, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich made a very promising tweet. She watched a cut of the show, and said that it was not for 5-year olds.

The Witcher

That is all fine and dandy, but please tell us that they fixed Geralt’s hair. Look at it, just see how terrible it looks in the only footage we have of the show!

At least one thing is for certain, the Netflix Witcher TV series is something that will blow us away. Either by being way better than we expected it to be, or by being everything we feared it would be and worse.
