New Europa Universalis IV DLC Is All About Pirates

Why bother with regular old empires when you can control pirate republics in Europa Universalis IV: Golden Century?

Europa Universalis IV

Ah, Europa Universalis IV, that grand strategy that has about 200 pieces of DLC out. That isn’t even too big of an exaggeration, as that game really does have a lot of downloadable content available. But, it is only natural since it is one of those strategy games that take two or three months of your life. They are so incredibly complex and gripping that once you’ve got an empire up and running, you can’t stop playing. But, empires can get awfully boring, and that’s why we’re getting pirate republics in the latest DLC!

Europa Universalis IV

Who wouldn’t want to control a pirate republic that hunts on the wild seas and plunders any boat that sails through it? That sounds like quite a nice change of pace from your regular Europa Universalis IV gameplay. But, of course, there is the option of being morally good and fighting pirates while trying to establish order on the dangerous seas. But who wants to do that?

Other features are coming to the game as well. For example, Golden Century will allow you to use homeland minorities to settle your distant colonies. That will increase the diversity of your subject nations greatly. Iberian nations will also be able to elect Dominican, Jesuit, and Franciscan clerics to be the governors of their states in order to bring down the level of unrest there.
