It’s a title made by the same people who brought you other masterpieces like the Crusader Kings games and the Europa Universalis series. Now, yesterday an announcement trailer popped up which showcased the game’s upcoming expansion titled “MegaCorp”. The name pretty much says it all. Players that don’t like to engage in war or diplomacy can now focus on other things, like getting insane amounts of money. Will your enemy truly attack you if they know that you can buy their entire empire?

MegaCorp is the third big expansion for Stellaris, and it gives you the options of making galaxy-wide deals and harnessing the profits. This expansion is all about the economy and letting the player be a CEO of a corporate empire which aims to expand its business all over the vast territory of space. New civics, new things to build, new ways to trade, all of these tools are at your disposal.

Have you ever dreamed about creating a megacity that spans over a whole planet? Well, with the help of the Ecumenopolis, you can increase the population density of core worlds to absurd proportions. After some time, your megacity will be a powerhouse that covers the entire planet. This expansion also brings the Caravaneers to Stellars. These nomadic “traders” always have some interesting stuff to sell, so keep an eye out for them. You never know what they might have in stock that you would want.

Of course, MegaCorp also comes with shiny new buildings like the Strategic Coordination Center, the Matter Decomopossor, and the Mega-Art Installation megastructures. Oh, you say those aren’t that exciting? Then what would you say about a galactic slave market where you can purchase and sell pops on an industrial scale? Free the slaves once you buy them, or if you’re a more sinister kind of person, well, then you probably know what you’re going to do with them.
