Overwatch Gets New Patch Notes

For Overwatch, patches are absolutely essential. The game is in a constant state of balancing, both by fan request and by the team at Blizzard themselves. More than that though, they use these patches to also bring in new and exciting things from the PTR and beyond. So, we have a brand new patch out right now, one that balances some heroes, updates loot boxes, and of course, brings in an all-new character view the long-awaited Doomfist. Here are the hightlights of them all.

First up, after a stint on the PTR (Public Test Realm), Doomfist has arrived. This character is the former, and now back to current, leader of Talon. Doomfist is known for his legendary gauntlet, which was first seen in the opening Cinematic to Overwatch. Through that sight, fans rallied to get him in the game, and now, he is! He’s a powerful close range fighter, but has abilities that make him hard to get away from too. Be sure to try him out!

Players who have wanted big changes to loot boxes, rejoice! For it has come. The team at Blizzard have made two big changes to them via this patch. One, they “drastically reduced” a number of duplicates that you’ll get in this boxes. Which will make you all happy I’m sure. And to compensate for that, they’re increasing the credits you’ll get from them. So it’s a double win-win!

They’ve also improved the “Highlights” feature, which will take your best moments and compile them into a “Today’s Top 5” list. But, in a fun twist, you can now generate your own highlights! The patch will allow you to create 12-second highlights, and even let you decide what button to start the “capture” with. You can have 36 of these highlights, and yes, you can export them.

That just scratches the surface of this patch, be sure to read the full notes to see how your character in Overwatch is affected, and what bugs have been fixed as well.
