PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Anti-Cheat Update Has Been Delayed

There are few things worse than cheating. In the video game world, there are VERY few things worse than cheating. For it’s very frustrating when you’re playing a multiplayer game and you lose because someone has an unfair advantage. With the advance in technology, players from all over the world have found creative ways to cheat other players, and developers are on the defensive as they try and remedy it. This goes double for titles like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, where there are tons of players in each game, and plenty of ways to cheat the game at present.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is honestly one of the biggest games that has the biggest amount of cheaters. Just in the last month they’ve banned 1 million players for cheating, and that doesn’t look to be stopping anytime soon. Now, developer Bluehole revealed that the anti-cheat update that was set to come to the game on PC has been delayed:

PC players, the patch for the anti-cheat update has been delayed, as an unexpected issue has occurred while testing its compatibility. We will soon update you when it will be released. Thank you for your understanding.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

This is a huge blow, as many were hoping that the anti-cheat measures would be up soon so the fear of being cheated would be lessened. Sadly, that’s not the case. But, there is a slight update here that you should now. On their official forums, they revealed that BattlEye, part of their anti-cheat software has made it so ReShade doesn’t work anymore in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds:

“BattlEye, a part of our anti-cheat solution, has blocked ReShade. For you to run the game, you must uninstall ReShade. If the game files are already damaged, you must also reinstall the game.”

A small step, but one that hopefully will be compounded on soon, as the game seriously needs to step up its game in terms of stopping cheaters.
