PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Gets Second Update On PC 1.0

For much of last year, one of the biggest questions asked was about when PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds would fully launch. The game was on Steam Early Access for many months, and had to fix a lot of problems before launching in full in December. Now, with its full release, players are wondering what updates and advancements the game will make in order to make the title better to play. Thankfully, developer Bluehole has taken the time to do a dev blog to answer just that.

As of right now, a new update has been put onto the test servers for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and the team is hopeful that it’ll go to the live servers soon. In it are many changes and updates, including a highly-requested one in the form of being able to report cheaters from the replay tool screen. It’s their hope that by using the tool in this way, the game will get cleaned up, and you can enjoy it more.

One of the other big issues that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been dealing with since launch is stability and server issues. The new update hopes to remedy that in a few ways. For example, “we have reduced the visible distance while in the air – this will improve the performance of the server and client in the beginning of the match.”

They’ve also been testing out new crates and how to put them into the match, and under what conditions. They know that players have been eagerly awaiting this, so they want to get it right before launching it on the live servers.

This goes for all their other features as well, they want the update to be ready, and thus testing will be rigorous. Other adjustments you can expect are numerous bug fixes, changes to the UI, some more cover in Miramar, and more. The dev blog has the full patch notes, be sure to check them out.
