PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Gets Status Update On Xbox One Patch

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was one of the greatest success stories in 2017. From when it launched on Steam Early Access, to its release on Xbox One, and its full launch on Steam, the game got 30 million plus players, broke numbers records on Steam, and earned (and won) several awards and nominations. But, the game still has a ways to go until it’s fully stable, this goes especially for the Xbox One version of the game, as it’s still in “preview” format.

To be fair, the Xbox One version only released in December, whereas the Steam version had been on the Early Access program for months before the main version was given out. That being said, many players have taken notice that a promised patch for the game hasn’t been given yet. The team behind PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds revealed that the Xbox One patch was set to Microsoft, but it hasn’t come out yet, and that has made many unhappy.

However, when someone posted about this on Reddit, an Xbox representative took the time to make it clear what was going on:

“For PUBG on Xbox, there is currently no specific or set day of the week we will release patches. Our goal is to make patches available once Certification has finalized testing, and the team is confident that the overall experience is improved with the patch. Depending on the types of fixes included in a patch, the process may take less or more time, but our collective goal is to bring meaningful improvements to our players as quickly as possible.”

The representative also teases that more information about the patch and its release could come as early as tonight, it just depends on how things move along. Microsoft wants to have “transparency” when it comes to these updates, and they ask for patience as they try and make the game better for all who play it.
