PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds To Release Event Mode

There is a danger in stagnation when it comes to video games. While it’s true that players like to play certain types of games and modes over and over again, eventually, they’ll want to stop. This goes especially for multiplayer games where you can only play on a few maps. It’s up to developers to make sure that their games feel fresh and new as often as they can. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds hasn’t always done that, but, in a new reveal, they’re hoping to change things in a big way.

How? Well, they’re going to be doing a new mode called “Event Mode”. Here, you’ll be able to play a certain scenario within PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds defined by the team at Bluehole. This will change often, and thus give players a unique experience. Here’s a description of it from their website:

You can think of the Event Mode as a periodically changing preset Custom Game where we will be trying new things and experimenting with different game parameters. Using the Event Mode, players will be able have Battle Royale experiences otherwise not available in the public matches. But it’s designed to be much more than just a preset Custom Game, as Event Mode will feature new content, much of it available in the game only for a limited time.

That’s very interesting, some new content, new scenarios, very exciting. Now, the team does admit that Event Mode will start off slowly, because they apparently just built it recently. As such, the team will be doing a test of the mode soon, so you should be on the lookout for that.

Now, Event Mode will NOT be ranked, however, you will earn BP for it, so there’s something you will earn by playing it. When more details come out about the new mode, we’ll let you know.
