PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Update Brings Change to Blue Zone

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will have an early access update next week, one which will bring something that has been heavily requested by players.

This feature entails a buff to the blue zone’s damage over time. When playing PUBG, one thing that sets it apart from many games is the map shrinking as the blue zone closes in around a map’s marked area. The update that’s coming will increase the damage done by the blue zone, which aims to encourage players to keep fighting each other in the map’s safe zone. Players will often use a practice in which they will stock up on healing items and shoot enemies from behind whilst moving into the safe zone.

A recent blog post states: “We have decided to adjust the blue zone damage to encourage engagement inside of the play zone. From this new update, you will be able to focus more on the immediate, close-ranged skirmishes inside the play zone, instead of dealing with enemies outside of the play zone during the mid to late phases of the game.”

This will hopefully be welcome news for the many fans that have requested this change to be made, and discourage the behavior that had previously plagued it.
