PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds On Xbox One Gets Very Interesting Patch

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently in two different versions on two different platforms. There’s the “complete” version that is on PC right now through Steam, and then, there’s the Xbox One version, which is currently still in “preview” form. As such, there’s a lot of bugs and glitches going on in that Xbox One version that the team at Microsoft and developer Bluehole have to work out, and it’s been going a bit slow. And now, a new patch has changed up the game in a significant way.

As revealed on their forums, where the players go before the match begins has now changed. For they have, “Introduced multiple pre-match starting locations in order to optimize both server and game client performance.”

This has been one of the more major issues on the Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and that wasn’t the only change made to help with performance. They’ve also removed all weapons from the island until the match actually starts.

Continuing on with optimization and stabilization of the game, they’ve also changed and refined some textures and landscapes and even some buildings in order to improve the performance of the game. Adding to that, they’ve fixed a slew of crashes that resulted from various issues.

They improved many other things as well, including another change to vehicles based on your feedback. For they “have lowered the damage taken from objects throughout the world such as rocks, trees, and uneven terrain.”

Check out the link above for the full patch notes. The made a special note for players, thanking them for their patience:

We recognize and fully understand the challenges while playing through some of the more impactful issues, and appreciate your persistence and continued support throughout. We have been hard at work on this patch, and we wanted to take the time necessary to ensure stability before rolling it out into Xbox Game Preview.

Hopefully, things are getting closer to a full release for the game.
