Psyonix Details Updates For Rocket League Over Next Few Months

Rocket League is a game that honestly shouldn’t be as big as it is. It’s a simple yet detailed action-soccer title that has cars instead of people. And yet, people loved it, and despite the game coming out in 2015, it’s grown every year in player base. Add to that, developer Psyonix has been great about adding new content nearly every month for the game, ensuring that things continue to do well for the title. And as 2018 goes on, that’s going to continue.

In a post on their website, Psyonix revealed everything that’s coming to Rocket League not just in the next few months, but updates that’ll eventually arrive throughout the year. This new month (can you believe it’s February already?) will feature the arrival of a new competitive season, a new crate full of items for your cars, and, the Steam beta test for the new Tournaments feature. That test will be packed for sure.

In March, some “Licensed Premium DLC” is coming. This is intriguing as Rocket League has teamed up with many brands to bring special cars and items into their games. This includes cars based on Fast And The Furious, as well as items from DC Comics. So, if they’re saying its licensed gear, we’re probably getting something good. There will also be a Spring Event in March, so stay tuned for details on that.

Psyonix isn’t stopping there though, during the “Spring” season you can also expect a number of Quality of Life updates. This includes Item Stacking, better Item Filtering, new options for the game itself, more stable online play, and more. For those who have the Nintendo Switch version of the game, you can expect a graphics update in the Spring as well, which will bring the game to 900p in Docked Mode with 60FPS, or 1080p with 30FPS.

And that still only scratches the surface of what’s coming. It looks like it’ll be a big year for Rocket League.
