Red Dead Redemption 2 Getting Day One Patch and Companion App

The launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 is nearly here, and this is a game that has been in the minds of gamers for a decade. But it’s almost here, and Rockstar Games is going all out to make sure that this is the sequel that players deserve. But also, they’re making sure that gamers are fully aware of everything that will be coming with the game via its launch. For in a post, they revealed that game will get the dreaded Day One Patch.

As is common for a game of this size and scope, there will be a downloadable title update addressing a number of last minute tweaks, bugs and fixes. To ensure the best possible gameplay experience, we strongly recommend making sure you’ve downloaded this update before launching the game.

They’re not wrong in that many games of this nature require a Day One Patch, but I’m sure many were hoping that Red Dead Redemption 2 wouldn’t be one to follow this trend.

The team also spoke about the Red Dead Redemption Online beta, which will be coming out in November (no date released as of yet). They took the time to remind people about it and what it will be like, and how the beta will help make it better:

Red Dead Online is a new online connected experience set against the backdrop of Red Dead Redemption 2’s enormous open world. As with most online experiences of this size and scale, there will inevitably be some turbulence at launch and we look forward to working with our amazing and dedicated community to share ideas, help us fix teething problems and work with us to develop Red Dead Online into something really fun and innovative.

Rockstar Games is clearly painting a picture of what the game will be like at and after launch. But how well will it turn out? We’ll find out October 26th.
