Release Date For MineCon Announced

Minecraft was one of the biggest games when it came out, as it attracted players of all ages and it blew up even more thanks to YouTube. The hype surrounding this title was absolutely massive, as it seemed like everyone and their father played it, but now almost 7 years after its release in November 2011, the game isn’t as popular as it once was. This is a normal thing, as no game can have its popularity stick forever, but the game’s biggest virtual fan event, called MineCon, is still here, and we just found out when it’s happening.

MineCon Earth, as it’s called, is coming on September 29th, 2018. Fans of the game can tune in on Facebook, YouTube, Mixer, or Minecraft’s official site to see the upcoming content, like the Aquatic update. Players will also be able to check out the costume contest to see who made the most realistic costumes this year. Expect to see a lot of people dressed up as Creepers, as they have somehow become the game’s most iconic creatures, mostly due to the fact that they’re cute and they also blow themselves up when you get near them. If you make a cool-enough costume, you could get an invite to the event and get highlighted on the MineCon Earth livestream, where you can get an amazing prize if you have one of the better costumes!

Are you excited about Minecraft’s virtual fan event? Will you be watching it this year live? It’s the best way to get to know more about the game’s upcoming water-themed update, so keep an eye out for it!
